MLB Strikeout Props April 9

MLB Pitcher Strikeout Props For April 9th: Fade The Mariners

I'm back with two more MLB strikeout prop bets after nailing both yesterday.

I really love this Rodon matchup for the Yankees, but I've got another AL East bet as well. So, let's get after our two MLB strikeout props for April 9th:

Pick 1: Chris Bassitt OVER 5.5 Ks (-155)

Mariners vs Blue Jays Matchup Preview - Game Time: 7:07 pm ET

Bassitt hasn't been brilliant so far this season, but he's still been solid. He's racked up nine strikeouts in his first two starts, but if the Blue Jays starter can pitch deeper into games he should be good for this over — he's still averaging nearly a K per inning.

Lucky for Bassitt, he has the pleasure of facing baseball's biggest strikeout team in the Mariners. Despite trading away a lot of their swing-and-miss this offseason, Seattle has 13 more strikeouts than any other team against right-handed pitchers so far this season. As a square, the Mariners are hitting just .205 against righties, with 99 Ks to just 19 BBs.

Pick 2: Carlos Rodon OVER 6.5 Ks (+105)

Yankees vs Marlins Matchup Preview - Game Time: 8:40 pm ET

Carlos Rodon has been pitching well this season, working to a 2.79 ERA in his first two outings. But, the strikeouts haven't really been there (just seven through 9.2 innings). Tonight, the Ks are coming, though. Rodon faces a Marlins lineup that's been the worst in baseball against lefties like him, so far. In 11 games, they've struck out 43 times against southpaws (the most in baseball) and have a team batting average of just .175 against lefties.

Last night, the Marlins struck out eight times to lefty Nestor Cortes. This is a Cortes that had an ERA over six entering the start and ended up pitching eight shutout innings. Just imagine what Rodon can do.
