Space Jam 2 Betting Props: What NBA Players Will Be In The Mix?

Space Jam 2 Betting Props Bugs Bunny June 20, 2019

When LeBron James took his talents to the Los Angeles Lakers last summer, there was a lot of speculation about whether he was moving to be closer to Hollywood to further his endeavors in the entertainment industry.

After a tumultuous first season in the purple and gold, this looks to be the case with production underway on Space Jam 2 and oddsmakers have gotten in on the action.

Online sportsbook Bovada has started to unveil some betting props for the sequel to arguably the best crossover in movie history (pun intended) and they’ve started us off with “What NBA player will have a credited role in Space Jam 2?”

This page will be completely dedicated to Space Jam betting props so keep checking back from now until the release of the movie in July 2021 to see what you can cash in on.

What NBA Player Will Have a Credited Role in Space Jam 2?

With new reports coming out recently of Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis (surprise, surprise), Chris Paul and Diana Taurasi all expected to be on board for Space Jam 2, it’s hard to envision who else will be needed to complete this movie (Bill Murray?) but we do know who won’t be in it.

That list starts with Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo, who have all stated they would not be involved. I would hold off on betting those players to make their big-screen debuts. Oddsmakers must think that way too since their odds range from +2200 to +4000, which makes it unlikely.

I’m unsure of the plot direction for this movie as Space Jam’s story revolved around aliens known as the “Monstars” who stole the “talent” from the likes of Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing to use it to beat the Looney Tunes in a basketball game. Not exactly Oscar-winning stuff but somewhat of a believable scenario. Michael Jordan then teams up with the Tune Squad and hilarity ensues.

Well, if they plan to copy any of those plot points, it would seem like they already have their Monstar squad lined up which makes it hard for me to envision how they would shoehorn any more NBA players into the movie. They could feature in-game footage and simulated games to show more players and that’s how I envision guys like Joel Embiid (+750) and Ben Simmons (+450) in the mix.

At this point, your guess is as good as mine and with producers keeping details on the movie very close to the chest, it makes it very hard to cap this prop. Dwyane Wade is the favorite and with him retired, he certainly has a lot more free time to help LeBron win again.

What NBA Player Will Have a Credited Role in Space Jam 2?
  • Dwyane Wade -105
  • Carmelo Anthony +175
  • Kyrie Irving +210
  • Ben Simmons +450
  • Joel Embiid +750
  • James Jones +1600
  • J.R. Smith +2200
  • Kevin Durant +2200
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo +2800
  • Stephen Curry +4000
  • James Harden +4000
