    Penn State actually lost a high-scoring affair to Pitt last season, with the Panthers edging out a 42-39 victory. The Nittany Lions dug themselves a hole early and, despite scoring 18 points in the fourth, couldn’t overcome the deficit.

    Everyone expected Penn State’s offense to be one of the best in the nation, something that was reaffirmed with their 52 points last week. Dating back to last season, Penn State has scored at least 35 points in eight consecutive games. Running back Saquon Barkley looked phenomenal in Week 1, rushing for 172 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries.

    Pitt took its foot off the gas pedal last week, blowing a 21-point lead before needing overtime to pick up the win against Youngstown State. Max Browne looked good at quarterback, though the offense kept things fairly simple for his first game with the Panthers. The Pitt defense will need to do a better job at pass coverage against running backs and tight ends or Barkley and Mike Gesicki will cause a lot of issues.
