The San Francisco 49ers (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS) take on the Los Angeles Rams (3-1 SU, 3-1 ATS) on Thursday Night Football in an NFC West showdown. The 49ers are fresh off their first loss of the season (vs. Jacksonville), while the Rams enter the contest after notching an impressive win against the Colts.
The Rams are currently a 8.5-point favorite and the total sits at 45.5, but as always, I recommend shopping around.

49ers vs Rams Picks - Week 5
The Rams opened as 3.5-point favorites and we've seen the point spread climb to 8.5 on the news that Brock Purdy and two receivers (Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall) have been officially been ruled out as of Wednesday.
Old friend Demarcus Robinson has a nice revenge game spot against his old team, the Rams. Outside of Robinson though, the 49ers' remaining options at wide receiver are Kendrick Bourne, Marquez Vandes-Scantling, and Skyy Moore. With Mac Jones at quarterback and those wide receivers on the field, I suspect that Rams' Defensive Coordinator Chris Shula will sleep just fine Saturday night. The team total for the 49ers is 17.5 and with Mac Jones at quarterback, I think the UNDER (-120) is worth a look.
Divisional familiarity and Robert Saleh's track record against Sean McVay left me thinking the Rams offense could underperform Thursday. When Saleh was the defensive coordinator for San Francisco, he held McVay's offense to 16 points or less three times. The Rams are also expected to be without offensive lineman Rob Havenstein and tight end Tyler Higbee.
Rams' quarterback Matthew Stafford is coming off a 375 yard, 3 touchdown game but he's struggled recently against the 49ers. Dating back to 2021, Stafford has thrown seven touchdowns and seven interceptions in seven games against the 49ers. San Francisco being without the services of Nick Bosa will help Stafford, but expect Saleh to dial up some exotic pressures after San Francisco's pass rush struggles last week (zero sacks).
49ers vs Rams Week 5 Pick: UNDER 47 (-110)
Pick made as of 5:51 pm ET on Sept.29 via BetMGM. We appear on our way to closing line value. As you can see above, the total has now dipped down to 43.5, and I wouldn't still bet it at this point. However, if you did get the UNDER 47 bet in, then you could also consider a middle, especially if you can find a 43.

49ers vs Rams - Week 5 Prop Pick
I like 49ers receiver Demarcus Robinson to find the endzone in this one for two main reasons: 1.) The 49ers only offensive threat is Christian McCaffrey and they'll need someone like Robinson to step up. 2.) Robinson should be extra motivated for this one in a game against his former team. Last season, the Rams elected to bring wide receiver TuTu Atwell back on a one-year, $10 million deal and left Robinson out in the cold even though Robinson caught seven touchdowns and Atwell caught none. At one point, Robinson commented “resign me” on the Rams official social media page, but they didn't and he ended up in San Francisco on a 2-year, $9.5 million deal.
