Browns vs Bears Odds & Picks Week 15: Cold Weather Game

The Cleveland Browns travel to face the Chicago Bears in a Week 15 matchup with vastly different playoff implications. The Bears sit at 9-4 and are fighting to maintain their position in the crowded NFC playoff race, while the Browns, at 3-10, have been eliminated from playoff contention and are playing out the string.

At this point in the season, Chicago is coming off a tough loss to the Packers that snapped its five-game winning streak, while Cleveland is reeling from their second straight loss and fifth in the last six games.

The Bears enter Week 15 as 7.5-point home favorites at FanDuel, priced at -420 on the moneyline with the Browns returning +330.

Browns vs Bears Week 15

The Browns offense has struggled mightily this season, ranking 29th in the NFL in scoring at just 17.2 points per game. Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has taken over the starting role and showed flashes in his breakout 364-yard, four-touchdown performance against Tennessee in Week 14.

However, Sanders is still adjusting to the NFL game, completing just 52.4% of his passes for 769 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions across three starts. The Browns rank near the bottom of the league in total offense and have been particularly anemic on the road with just one win away from home all season.

Chicago's defense has been inconsistent this year, ranking 25th in points allowed at 25.8 per game and 27th in total defense. However, the Bears lead the NFL with 27 takeaways, including 18 interceptions, making them opportunistic despite giving up yardage. Against a rookie quarterback still finding his footing, expect the Bears to dial up pressure with their pass rush and create turnover opportunities. The Browns' offensive line has also been decimated by injuries, with center Ethan Pocic, right tackle Jack Conklin, and right guard Wyatt Teller all sidelined.

On the other side, the Bears offense has been efficient under first-year head coach Ben Johnson. Caleb Williams has thrown for 2,908 yards with 19 touchdowns this season and has shown steady improvement, particularly in the run game and with play-action. Chicago's rushing attack ranks second in the NFL in attempts and has averaged 175 rushing yards over its last nine games behind the duo of D'Andre Swift and rookie Kyle Monangai. Williams has been particularly effective scrambling, ranking fifth among quarterbacks with 303 scramble yards this season.

Cleveland's defense has been its lone bright spot, ranking second in the NFL and led by Myles Garrett's league-leading 20 sacks. The Browns play more man-to-man coverage than any defense in the league and should generate consistent pressure on Williams. However, Chicago has thrived at home with a 5-1 record at Soldier Field and is 9-2 in their last 11 games overall. The Bears' experience in big moments and balanced offensive attack should be too much for a Browns team that has been outmatched on both sides of the ball most of the season. With a low total of 38.5 points and frigid weather conditions expected, this projects as a low-scoring grind where Chicago's home-field advantage and superior roster depth make the difference.

Since the 7.5-point spread in a cold, low-scoring game isn't super tasty, I recommend an alt spread bet. I'll take the Bears -6.5 at -148.

Browns vs Bears Week 15 Pick: Bears -6.5 (-148)

Browns vs Bears Props Week 15

D'Andre Swift OVER 55.5 Rushing Yards (-110)

D'Andre Swift faces a favorable matchup against a Browns run defense that has been vulnerable despite strong overall defensive numbers. While Cleveland ranks second in total defense, it has allowed running backs to find success through volume. A runner has posted 15-plus fantasy points in each of the last five games against the Browns, and Tony Pollard just torched them for 161 yards on 28 carries in Week 14.

Swift has been consistently productive for the Bears, recording at least 63 rushing yards in six of his last eight games. He's averaging 64.4 rushing yards per game this season and has topped 55.5 yards in seven of 13 games. The game script heavily favors Swift's workload as well. Chicago is a 7.5-point home favorite, which typically leads to a run-heavy approach to control the clock and protect a lead.

The Bears are committed to establishing the run under Ben Johnson, leading the NFL in rushing attempts. Swift and Kyle Monangai form an effective committee, but Swift sees the bulk of the work in obvious rushing situations and has been the more efficient back. Against a Browns offense that ranks 29th in scoring, the Bears should build an early lead and lean on their ground game throughout the second half.

Weather conditions also favor the rushing attack. With frigid temperatures and potentially strong winds expected at Soldier Field, both teams should look to control possession on the ground. Swift's combination of volume and efficiency, paired with favorable game flow and weather conditions, makes the over at 55.5 rushing yards a strong play. At this line, Swift needs just 14-16 carries at his season average to clear comfortably.
