Are you using our first-period NHL betting report as part of your NHL betting toolbox? Why not?! You really should be.
I swear by this report. I used it to great effect in 22-23 to make profits off the Canucks who routinely saw the first-period totals go OVER and the Isles who were the opposite.

Ottawa Senators First-Period Betting
The Sens are 9-1 in their last 10 against the first period OVER. So much for Jacques Martin installing a defensive first system, eh?
Ottawa is now hitting the first period OVER 72% of the time this season. Since Martin was hired (on an interim basis), Ottawa has seen the total go OVER 1.5 goals in P1 11 times. Heck, it's gone OVER 2.5 goals eight times. The Sens have a problem and it's called the first period.
But for us, it's a good problem to have.
Philadelphia Flyers First-Period Betting
The Flyers know they've got to hold a strong defensive line and capitalize on the few opportunities they get. That means keeping the score low. Philly is bottom-10 in the league for scoring. So by keeping the first period total low what I'm really saying is "keep the opponent quiet". And it's working for Philly.
Seeing them go 1-9 against the first period OVER in their last 10 is by design. On the season, Philly is 11-8SU (58%) when the first-period total is below 1.5 goals.
