With every year which passes by, we get one step closer to the inevitable conclusion of the Stephen Curry and Draymond Green era of Golden State Warriors basketball which has helped bring the franchise four NBA championships. The acquisition of Jimmy Butler back in February was designed to extend their window of opportunity and capture at least one more ring along the way, but Father Time is undefeated, and other up-and-coming teams are no longer afraid of this once awe-inspiring squad.
This 2025-26 season preview will look at all significant betting odds pertaining to the Warriors as this veteran-led roster attempts to relive its glory years and see if it can once again represent the Western Conference in the Finals.

Best Bet: Golden State Warriors to win Pacific Division, +230
Golden State was financially handcuffed this offseason due to the ongoing stalemate with Jonathan Kuminga and whether or not he'd accept one of two options which were reportedly on the table. It was only recently that the front office finally came to terms with him on a new two-year deal with a team option for the second season, which therefore opened the floodgates for contracts to be agreed to with the likes of Al Horford, Gary Payton II, and Seth Curry. Better late than never, and it's not as though any of those names were at risk of finding another home. This structure affords both parties a ton of flexibility, at least, as the Warriors could choose to move Kuminga prior to the trade deadline before he can potentially enter unrestricted free agency, so there's a lot still hanging in limbo.
What we know for sure is that the combination of Curry and Butler is a proven commodity, having gone 22-5 during the regular season when the pair suited up together while outscoring opponents by five points per 100 possessions. This included an initial 14-1 run once the trade with the Miami Heat went through, and while Golden State did upset the Houston Rockets in the opening round of the playoffs after qualifying as the No. 7 seed through the play-in tournament, a strained hamstring took Curry out of the conference semifinals before the team fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games. Folks who see the glass as being half full will say that the one game Curry participated in was the lone victory the Warriors had over Minnesota, but others will note that Golden State's reliance on the two-time league Most Valuable Player is so heavy in general that it's at best a floundering .500 team when he's not around.
Curry just turned 37 in March, Butler will be 36 in September, and Green is just slightly younger at 35. There's youth and exuberance around them in the form of Moses Moody (23), Brandin Podziemski (22), Trayce Jackson-Davis (25) and Quinten Post (25), and they all served their roles well in helping get the Warriors to a 48-34 record last season. Keep in mind that while the Warriors only have the third-best odds to take the Pacific Division behind the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, only a pair of games separated the teams in the win-loss column in 2024-25, and now Golden State has a full season with Butler to work with which could put them over the top if the standings are once again a logjam.

Best Bet: OVER 45.5 wins, -110
Obviously the Warriors are going to find it difficult to replicate the initial success which came from Butler's arrival, but the hope here is that if you stretch it out over the course of 82 games with some bumps along the way, that finishing with at least 46 victories should come rather easily.
The team has done just that each of the last two years with inferior rosters, and if you're finding better value for an OVER at 45.5 games, it would seem like a no-brainer decision to make.

Best Bet: Jonathan Kuminga for NBA Most Improved Player, +5000
Storylines make cases, and perhaps there'd be no better redemption arc in play than Kuminga returning to the Warriors and putting up numbers akin to what he produced in 2024 when he averaged 16.1 points and 4.8 rebounds on better than 52 percent shooting. Now that he's sticking around, head coach Steve Kerr needs to show a willingness to actually utilize him, and that's something all parties involved probably would have needed to cement in this new agreement.
Ideally, Kuminga would be one of the faces of a post-Curry world in the Bay Area, but those who once envisioned such a future slowly unfolding are realizing the error of their ways. He has his limitations as a 6-foot-8 forward who isn't big enough to protect the rim but not mobile enough to be a help defender or guard the perimeter well, but his upside offensively is certainly there at just 22 years of age with those aforementioned numbers. This is one of those wagers you plant in the ground and hope it blossoms over time, as much needs to be resolved and there has to be some common ground found between the player and organization for everyone to move forward and thrive together.
