The Rockies are the most profitable team in MLB after scoring first

YRFI/NRFI Picks For April 30: Marlins-Rox Rarin' For Runs

We are back with some YRFI/NRFI picks (Yes/No Run First Inning) for Tuesday, April 30.

So, if you want instant MLB action, follow along with our picks:

Pick 1: Rockies vs Marlins yes Run First Inning (+100)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:40 pm ET

This is my favorite pick of the day, as it combines the elements I find most important for Y/NRFI betting. I'm glad we can find it at plus money, too.

Sixto Sanchez gets the start (likely as an opener) for Miami, and, kids, he sucks. Sanchez once had a lot of shine, but injuries have derailed his career. What remains of the right-hander is not a pretty sight: a weak fastball and a 7.20 ERA. The Dominican allowed a first-inning run in his other lone start this year.

This is where it gets perfect. The Rox are above and beyond the best YRFI club in baseball toting a 21-7 record (75% success rate). Colorado is a fountain of first-inning runs.

Pick 2: Cubs vs Mets Yes Run First Inning (+110)

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 7:10 pm ET

We're playing the odds here, as, in my mind, this is a true 50/50 scenario, and the -140 NRFI is overvalued.

The starting pitcher records suggest a close call, too. Mets starter Sean Manaea is 2-3 NRFI this year, while Cubs righty Javier Assad is 3-2 YRFI. See what I mean? Beyond that, the Mets are 18-10 NRFI this year, though that trend has shifted, as New York is 5-5 YRFI in its last 10.

The Cubs are very similar, sporting a 15-14 NRFI bet with a 5-5 NRFI split over their last 10 contests. It's about as even as possible. But I've learned to bet the value in tight spots like this. Neither pitcher inspires much confidence these days, so I'm okay to go down swinging at +110.
