Giants vs Diamondbacks Betting Odds June 30

Diamondbacks are the Highest Scoring Team in the Majors in June

The San Francisco Giants will look to continue their surge in the standings as they face the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second game of the three-game series tonight. The Giants were able to shut down the majors’ best offense in June by holding the D’Backs to only one run in a 2-1 victory last night. With that win, San Francisco improved to 9-3 SU in its last 12 games and now sit 4.5-games back of Arizona for the NL West lead. Although the Giants are on a nice roll, they still opened as slight dogs to win again tonight at Chase Field.

SHARK BITES
  • Diamondbacks lead the majors with 5.62 runs per game in June.
  • Giants are 9-3 SU in their last 12 games.
  • Arizona is 9-3 SU in their last 12 home games vs San Francisco.

D'BACKS SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT SHELBY MILLER

Coming off an injury and missing almost all of last season, Shelby Miller may be still trying to work the kinks out with his delivery. In his only start for Arizona this season, Miller was horrendous vs the Marlins as he allowed five earned runs off of six hits in only 3.2 innings. He has historically been a better pitcher at home than on the road as evidenced by his 3.26 career ERA at his field but he has a losing record in his career at home and on the road so for bettors to think that this is the game that he will turn it around may be a fool’s errand. In nine career starts vs the Giants, Shelby owns a 3.51 ERA and a bloated 1.32 WHIP.

The Giants will counter with rookie Dereck Rodriguez and when he’s on the mound, San Fran has been fairly successful as they’re 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS in his last five starts. But he’s been knocked around when he starts on the road as he owns a 5.68 ERA in three away starts this season and has yet to make it past the fourth inning at an opponent's park. He’ll face a massive test to hold down a Diamondbacks squad that is the highest scoring team in the MLB this month, averaging 5.62 runs per game.

GIANTS HAVE NOT FARED WELL VS THEIR DIVISIONAL

San Francisco may be playing its best baseball of the season but when the Giants face their NL West Divisional rival on the road, it hasn’t been pretty as they've dropped nine of their last 12 games at Chase Field and have been outscored 59-36 in those contests.

San Francisco owns a 6-12 SU record on the road vs divisional opponents this season and when you factor in that its 8-17 SU in its last 25 road games, it’s hard to endorse a Giants moneyline bet.

TOTALS BETTORS SHOULD EYE THE OVER

The total opened at 8.5 and while trends are leaning towards an UNDER, bettors should seriously consider the OVER in this matchup. Shelby Miller has yet to find his form and is a prime candidate to get rocked by this surging Giants lineup as he owns an ERA over 12 this season. The OVER has also hit in 11 of the Diamondbacks’ 14 road games vs their division in 2018.
