The Morning Dunk: Edwards Throws Down Potential Dunk Of The Year

Poster dunks, streaks coming to an end, and offensive showcases make up today's edition of The Morning Dunk with elite-level NBA news and highlights for your senses as the week draws to a close.

Edwards Decimates Grizzlies In Second Half

It's not how you start, but how you finish. Just ask Anthony Edwards.

Despite scoring just two points in the first half of Thursday's game against the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, the Minnesota Timberwolves star went scorch earth in the final two quarters to finish with 28 points in a 118-103 victory.

To punctuate his night, Edwards went as far as lobbing a pass to himself off glass for a two-handed poster dunk like it was straight out of an All-Star Game.

Minnesota maintains a two-game lead for the top spot in the Western Conference with a 30-11 record SU after covering the spread against Memphis as the 12.5-point favorites.

Thunder End Jazz's Winning Streak

The Utah Jazz were riding a wave of momentum before running into a blue and orange brick wall on Thursday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recorded a line of 31 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Jalen Williams had 27 points of his own to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Jazz and end their six-game winning streak with a 134-129 victory at the Delta Center.

Oklahoma City had lost two in a row heading into the matchup, avoiding its first three-game losing skid of the campaign.

The Thunder just barely covered the spread as the three-point favorites, improving to 6-0 ATS in their last six games against Utah.

Brunson Goes On Scoring Tear Vs. Washington

The New York Knicks needed every last one of Jalen Brunson's points on Thursday to close out the pitiful Washington Wizards.

Brunson dropped 41 points on 14-of-27 shooting and 11-of-13 at the charity stripe as New York fended off a feisty Wizards squad, beating them 113-109 at Madison Square Garden. The 27-year-old guard has scored at least 30 points in four of his last five games.

Considering the Wizards' now 7-33 record SU, the Knicks were commanding 8.5-point favorites and failed to cover for just the third time in 10 games.
