    Jacksonville bounced back nicely from its blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers with a 34-14 blowout win at home against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday as a 6.5-point favorite. Trevor Lawrence went 24-for-32 with 262 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in the win, connecting with Calvin Ridley on both as the wideout finished the day with seven catches for 103 receiving yards and two scores.

    The Jaguars have been road warriors since last December with a 7-1 SU and 8-0 ATS record in their last eight road games that includes a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS road record this season. Jacksonville beat the Texans 31-3 in its last trip to Houston on January 1.

    Latest Betting Notes: Texans

    The Texans picked up the win but narrowly missed covering the spread as 5.5-point home favorites in their 21-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. C.J. Stroud went 27-for-37 with 336 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in the win, but he also threw a season-high three interceptions as well. Tank Dell led the receiving corps with eight catches, 149 receiving yards and a touchdown.

    Through his first 10 NFL starts, Stroud has compiled 2,962 passing yards and 17 passing touchdowns with only five interceptions. The sensational rookie has thrust Houston into playoff contention with a 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS run over the Texans’ last eight games.

    The Keys to Victory: Jaguars

    Trevor Lawrence has historically struggled against the Texans. He is 1-4 SU in his five career starts against Houston with 1,259 passing yards, four touchdown passes and seven interceptions in those five game. C.J. Stroud out-dueled Lawrence en route to a 37-17 upset win in Jacksonville back in September.

    Lawrence and the Jaguars are playing much better now than they were then, but the Texans are playing well, too. Stroud isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, so the Jaguars will likely need Lawrence to be at the top of his game to score a road win in this division rivalry game.

    The Keys to Victory: Texans

    Each of Houston’s last six games have been decided by a touchdown or less, and four of those games have been decided by a field goal or less. The Texans are 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS over that stretch thanks in large part to the strong play of C.J. Stroud. Stroud has broken away from the field as the clear favorite to win rookie of the year and has even played his way into the NFL MVP Award conversation.

    The rookie quarterback got away with three interceptions against the lowly Cardinals last Sunday, but he’ll need to be much sharper this week. Jacksonville has scored 31 points or more in three of its last five games, and Houston’s inconsistent defense could leave the pressure on Stroud to do the heavy lifting in this one.
