NHL Expert Picks For Feb.7: Leafs Dominate Stars

We got you covered with three puckline, moneyline and total picks for tonight's slate of NHL games.

There are three games on the NHL schedule tonight February 7. So here's a pick for each game.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs New York Rangers

Lightning+1.5 (-218)O6.5 (+102)+110
Rangers-1.5 (+180)U6.5 (-122)-130

Pick: Rangers ML -130

Rust is never good. The Tampa Bay Lightning haven't played since January 27th. And while there's an argument to be made that being rested is great, but Tampa isn't great on more than 2 days rest this year. In four games they're 1-3SU. And don't forget that Tampa is 0-3SU in three games at MSG since 21-22.

The Rangers came out of the All-Star Break with a solid 2-1 OT win over the Colorado Avalanche. Igor Shesterkin, who is expected to get the start in net, has been lights out in his career against the Bolts. In seven career games against Tampa, Shesterkin holds a 6-0-1 record and a spectacular 1.40 GAA and 0.956SV%.

Dallas Stars vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Stars+1.5 (-205)O6.5 (-115)+120
Leafs-1.5 (+170)U6.5 (-105)-142

Pick: Leafs -1.5 (+170)

Dallas isn't very good against Toronto. They're 0-5SU in their last five against the Leafs. But focus on their last three games against the Leafs and Dallas has lost by three goals or more.

The Leafs will be motivated to atone for Monday's 3-1 loss to the Islanders. Toronto was the better team with 55% xGF and 60% of the scoring chances at 5on5.

Toronto has a track record of dominating the Stars, and now they're motivated. I'm taking the riskier bet at +170 that they keep their solid trend rolling against a Stars side that played last night in Buffalo and who'll have Scott Wedwood's terrible 0.899SV% in net tonight.

Minnesota Wild vs Chicago Blackhawks
Matchup Page: Minnesota Wild vs Chicago Blackhawks, 9:30 PM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Wild-1.5 (+124)O5.5 (-112)-218
Blackhawks+1.5 (-148)U5.5 (-108)+180

Pick: U5.5 (-108)

The Chicago Blackhawks are horrendous offensively. In their last six games, they've scored an average of 1.00 goals per game. Surprisingly, they haven't been that bad defensively with 3.00 goals against in those six games. The UNDER has hit four times in those six games and 11 times in their last 14 games.

It's on the Wild for the total to go OVER 5.5 goals. On three days of rest, they've hit the UNDER three times. Not to mention hitting it in their last two games.
