NHL expert picks March 4

Expert Picks March 4: Avalanche Pound Pathetic Blackhawks

Happy Monday everyone! Here are three NHL expert picks for tonight's slate of games on March 4th, 2024. In our three picks, we've got a moneyline, total and puckline pick for you to make.

NHL Expert Picks: March 4th, 2024

Boston Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs
The Game: Boston Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs, 7 PM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Boston Bruins+1.5 (-218)O6 (-125)+110
Toronto Maple Leafs-1.5 (+180)U6 (+105)-130

Pick 1: O6 (-125)

When the Leafs are at home and the total is set at six goals, the score has always gone over. If you forget the line the Leafs have hit the OVER in five of their last six games.

Meanwhile, the Bruins have seen the total go OVER in six of their last eight games. And that's largely because of their poor defensive games with an average of 3.9 goals against in their last 10 games.

PS: With how bad Boston has been defensively, it might be a good time to back Matthews for an anytime goal. His odds tonight are at -115.

Vegas Golden Knights vs Columbus Blue Jackets
The Game: Vegas Golden Knights vs Columbus Blue Jackets, 7 pM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Vegas Golden Knights-1.5 (+130)O6.5 (-105)-180
Columbus Blue Jackets+1.5 (-155)U6.5 (-115)+150

Pick 1: Golden Knights ML (-180)

The Knights need a bounce-back game. They've dropped two straight and have gone 3-7SU in their last 10. Those wins came against the Sharks, Coyotes and the Leafs. Two bad teams and a fragile one. I'll let you decide which one is which.

The Jackets just aren't any good. At home, the Jackets are also 3-7SU in their last 10. With competing 3-7SU records, I'll back the fav to get the win.

Chicago Blackhawks vs Colorado Avalanche
The Game: Chicago Blackhawks vs Colorado Avalanche, 9 PM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Chicago Blackhawks+1.5 (+145)O6 (-122)+350
Colorado Avalanche-1.5 (-175)U6 (+102)-455

Pick 1: Avalanche (-175)

On a -1.5 puckline, the Avs are 5-2 in their last seven home games having outscored their opponents by 17 goals in that stretch.

They welcome a Hawks team to Ball Arena, that hasn't won on the road since November 9th and have only covered a -1.5 puckline four times since. That's a pathetic 4-17 record.

The Avs win tonight and by a healthy margin. No doubt.
