WNCAAB March Madness South Region Odds: Clark's Hawkeyes Should Cruise Through Colorado

The Iowa Hawkeyes are favored in the Women's March Madness South Region odds, with a slight edge over reigning champions, LSU.

The Tigers have a tougher meeting ahead with the UCLA Bruins. Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes should have an easier night against Colorado in the upcoming Sweet Sixteen.

Our 2024 March Madness South Region odds lean towards Caitlin Clark's Hawkeyes at +100 to find their way through the bracket. If Iowa does clinch its region, a potential LSU rematch could await with the two potentially meeting in the Elite Eight.

The South Region features the two teams that battled in last season's title game that drew in 9.9 million viewers. Iowa's Big Ten championship earned them the No. 1 seed in the Women's March Madness bracket, whereas LSU sits at No. 3 after losing its last outing to South Carolina, the heavy East Region favorites.

We all thought Caitlin Clark was untouchable last season but somehow the senior has stunned us even more. Heading into her final tournament before declaring for the WNBA Draft, Clark has decked herself in college basketball records and accolades. She obliterated the all-time NCAA scoring record (men's and women's) while also shattering Steph Curry's number for most three-pointers in a single season.

Nobody comes close to Iowa's 92.8 PPG, clearly led by Clark's 31.9 PPG average. It's a tall-task to try to stop this group, especially when Clark and Iowa, leading the nation with 11.3 three-pointers per game, is able to sink baskets from just about anywhere.

Despite all the media attention and targets on their back, Iowa knows how to stay calm and collected. The fairytale story of Clark's generational collegiate run is set up to end in greatness with another run to the national championship game.
