Preview of 2019 Supercontest for Team Odds Shark.

Team Odds Shark Has Different Look, New Challenges in 2019 Football Contests

For the first time in six years, Team Odds Shark will have a different look in 2019, with a select few individuals being chosen to represent themselves in the biggest Las Vegas football contests rather than just the world-famous SuperContest. The first five years saw annual team competitions for bragging rights and prize money in the SuperContest alone, but the new squad will be participating in three more Vegas contests as well.

The addition of the new Circa Sports Million, Golden Nugget Ultimate Football Challenge and the Sportsbook College Pick’em into the mix will test team members in different contests with different fields and different prize pools. The Circa Sports Million is similar to the SuperContest but features four quarterly bonuses worth at least $50,000 apiece while the Ultimate Football Challenge and College Pick’em both involve college football games rather than only making NFL picks as is the case with the SuperContest.

Sportsbook SuperContest

Still the biggest football contest, the SuperContest has topped 3,000 entries for the second year in a row. Representing Team Odds Shark this season are Frank Schwab, Paulo Antunes, Jon Anik and Anthony Riccobono. Schwab won the team title in 2016 and Antunes followed in 2017, also tying for 18th overall for the best finish ever by an Odds Shark member. Anik’s passion for picking NFL games helped him return for a fifth straight year.

Circa Sports Million

The newest Vegas football contest has a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million with $1 million going to the Sportsbook, and it will also see some new faces on Team Odds Shark in Pamela Maldonado and Joe Fortenbaugh in addition to the company’s own Joe Osborne and Kris Abbott. Will the Joes beat the pros, and how will Maldonado fare after previously gaining some valuable handicapping experience in the SuperContest?

Golden Nugget Ultimate Football Challenge

The most unique Vegas football contest gives entrants the opportunity to select seven pro and/or college games against the spread as opposed to picking five NFL games every week like the SuperContest and Circa Sports Million. “Cousin Sal” Iacono, Harry Gagnon and Darren and Brian Szokoli have been picked to compete for Team Odds Shark in this one, and their knowledge of college football could be the difference.

Sportsbook College Pick’em

Last but not least, this college-only contest will see Clay Travis and Jonny Odds Shark (Jon Campbell) make seven NCAA football picks for 10 weeks in hopes of taking home some of the guaranteed $75,000 in prize money at the end. Similar to the Ultimate Football Challenge, knowing the college game well could help them win some money.
