R6 Siege Sweden Major

BDS Esport Favored to Win R6 Sweden Major

It’s time for another Rainbow Six Siege major, with all the best teams in the world set to meet in Sweden from November 8-14 to crown another Six major champion.

The event is one of many on the Six Invitational circuit, with teams competing to earn points to qualify for the game’s world championship. Much like other majors, this event is made up of only the best of the best in Rainbow Six, with teams qualifying based on placements in their regional leagues.

Before we get into the juicy details of the event, make sure to check out our Rainbow Six betting guide, and let’s dive right in.

Who’s Playing At The R6 Sweden Major?

The major is made up of 16 of the best Rainbow Six teams in the world, all of them earning their spot through regional leagues. This includes four teams from each of Europe, North America, South America and the Asia-Pacific League.

Even if you’re not a Rainbow Six fan, you’ll no doubt be familiar with many of the teams attending this event, with the likes of BDS Esport, Team Vitality, Rogue, FaZe, Furia, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Damwon Gaming and other familiar names securing spots at the event. All of these teams are also prominent in the game and most of them have attended multiple majors in the past.

The event itself is played in a fairly straightforward format. Teams are first placed in four groups of four, which are played out in a double round-robin format, meaning each team plays the others in their group twice. The top two teams of each group then advance to a single-elimination playoff, where just one loss means elimination and the last team standing is crowned the major champion.

BDS Looks to Continue Hot Form

BDS Esport enters the tournament as the favorite, coming in hot off an undefeated season in the European League. The team has been one of the best in the world for quite some time now but has never looked quite this strong – everything seems to have clicked for them at the perfect time.

They put in a very strong showing at the Mexico Major, placing third-fourth, and have considerably leveled up since. Things weren’t really even close in the European League, with BDS winning all nine of their games, most in dominant fashion, even against Europe’s second seed.

All in all, BDS looks like a very strong side and if they can continue their incredible form, they will be a force to be reckoned with in Sweden.

Can Team One Repeat Mexico Major Success?

Team One is another key team to watch in this major, coming in as the reigning champions after a somewhat unexpected win at the Mexico Major in August.

They’ve remained a strong side since, placing second in their regional league after a tight 2-1 loss to FaZe, but otherwise showing impressive performances. Coming from a historically strong region, Team One definitely has what it takes to perform at this major and they’ve already proven that they know how it’s done.

Could This Be The Most Competitive R6 Event Ever?

While there are some key favorites at the Sweden Major, this event could very well be one of the most competitive in R6 history. Even a quick glance at the odds will tell you it’s very difficult to pick a Sportsbook – even as favorite BDS comes in at +550 on Sportsbook, those are some pretty high odds!

Realistically, any of the top 10 teams at the event have a very good shot at going all the way, and even the other underdogs have proven that they can battle it out with the best.

While it’s unlikely that we have a massive upset with someone like Chiefs or Invictus Gaming winning it, both of those teams could make deep runs, and even a dark horse like Ninjas in Pyjamas, Furia or SpaceSportsbook could end up coming out on top. We’re definitely in for some amazing Rainbow Six action.
