Hello folks, I'm here with some MLB expert picks for Monday, April 8th and I want to start my season off with a few winners. I've been doing pretty well with the same-game parlays, but isolated game picks are bit different.
Here are my two MLB expert picks for Friday:

Pick 1: Diamondbacks -1.5 (-120) vs Rockies
Matchup Preview - Game Time: 8:40 pm ET
We're just a week into the season, but I think this is already my lock of the year.
Kyle Freeland has quickly become the easiest fade on the board in 2024 after allowing 17 runs in his first two starts of the season. The fade is doubled down when current DBacks have a .991 career OPS against Freeland, so things should get even worse today.
Overall, the Diamondbacks have the sixth-best offense in baseball by OPS, so far this year, They've hit 12 homers in 10 games and have hit around some good starters.
Freeland's Rockies are 2-8, and about to add another loss today.
Pick 2: Marlins vs Yankees OVER 8.5 Runs (-100)
Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:40 pm ET
The key for this one is pitching. Both Miami starter Jesus Luzardo and New York's Nestor Cortes have been worse than expected to start this year. Luzardo has a 4.35 ERA in his first two starts while Cortes has a 6.30.
Those numbers alone should get us to this over, but if you're still worried — trust in the Marlins bullpen. Miami has one of the worst 'pens in baseball so far this year, allowing a 6.11 ERA. The relievers are a big reason Miami has been MLB's best OVER team in 2024 (8-2).
