I'm pretty confident in my MLB home run props tonight, which is never a good sign. But nonetheless, I think both my guys are gonna go yard in a small slate today.
Follow along for my two home run prop bets for April 18th:
Pick 1: Kerry Carpenter To Homer (+450)
Tigers vs Rangers Matchup Preview - Game Time: 1:10 pm ET
We've got the Jack Leiter debut for Texas today, but I'm not that convinced it's gonna go well. Leiter has given up 31 homers in his 192 minor-league innings prior to his debut, including four homers in 14.1 innings this year.
I think Kerry Carpenter is the best bet to take advantage of that homer trend, as the Tigers slugger is mashing a .970 OPS against righties so far this season and has two homers in his last six games.
If you don't think that's enough to get a homer, the Rangers' bullpen also hasn't been very good this year, rocking a five ERA. So Carp could get a homer late, too.
I broke down more of why I think betting HRs against Leiter is a great strategy today with the fellas over at the Sports Gambling Podcast's MLB show:

Pick 2: Lamonte Wade Jr. To Homer
DBacks vs Giants Matchup Preview - Game Time: 9:45 pm ET
The is the latest first pitch on the slate tonight, which means it's the perfect time to bet on Late Night Lamonte Wade. The Giants DH/OF has been great so far this year, hitting .378 with a .983 OPS.
He gets the pleasure of facing Ryne Nelson tonight, who has a 5.27 ERA on the season and has allowed three homers in three outings. Wade usually rakes against righties like this, so I like the odds for him to go yard.
