With that in mind, we break down how the 30 clubs have fared in their Sportsbook games over the last 23 seasons. Below, we’ve gathered the straight-up records, OVER/UNDER records, and the best bets for season openers. MLB Sportsbook Day Best Bet: Baltimore Orioles Upset
There’s no franchise that embodies the hope of baseball’s Sportsbook Day more than the Baltimore Orioles. The O’s haven’t posted a record above .500 since 2016 but own the majors’ best record in season openers this century.
Despite losing their last three Sportsbook games, the Orioles are still 15-5 in the last 20 openers. With solid starter John Means on the bump for Baltimore on Friday, the Orioles should be a good upset bet to start off your baseball betting campaign.
Avoid The Texas Rangers On Sportsbook Day
While the Orioles have been MLB’s best on Sportsbook Day, the Texas Rangers have been the worst. If you bet $100 on the last 23 Rangers openers, you’d be down $802.98.
Over the last eight years, Texas has won just two games to start the season, being outscored by 24 runs. Facing off against a strong Toronto Blue Jays squad to start the 2022 season, it’s probably time to fade the Rangers.
