I'm back with two more MLB strikeout prop bets today, and I'm turning to the young studs.
Jared Jones and Grayson Rodriguez were two young hurlers I was high on coming into the season, and they've both been great so far. So, let's get after their two MLB strikeout props for April 11th:
Pick 1: Jared Jones OVER 5.5 Ks (-146)
Pirates vs Phillies Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:40 pm ET
Can't say I really get this line. Jones has been great to start his MLB career, surpassing this 5.5 Ks mark in each of his first two starts (17 Ks in total).
He also faces a Phillies lineup tonight that's hitting just .206 against righties and missing the ball a lot these days. In yesterday's game against the Cardinals, Philly hitters had 13 strikeouts, including six to starter Lance Lynn.
Pick 2: Grayson Rodriguez OVER 6.5 Ks (+115)
Orioles vs Red Sox Matchup Preview - Game Time: 8:40 pm ET
Like with Jones, this is a bet on the upside of one of baseball's best young arms. GRod has been lights out in his first two starts this season, allowing just three total runs (on three solo homers) across 12.1 innings. He's reached 16 total strikeouts in those outings, too, with nine in his first and seven in the second (both over 6.5, you'll notice).
Rodriguez also has the pleasure of facing a Red Sox team that's struck out the third-most in baseball so far this season. As a squad they've got 126 Ks in 12 games, and key players like Triston Casas, Jarren Duran, and Ceddanne Rafaela all are averaging over a strikeout per inning.
