MLB Same-Game Parlay April 1: Blue Jays vs Astros (+375)

We might be a few days past Opening Day, but that doesn't mean April isn't high time for a lucrative MLB same-same parlay. 

For Monday, we're highlighting the Blue Jays vs Astros matchup, with first pitch scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Here's my MLB same-game parlay for the contest, where I break down the three parlay legs I need to hit:

Blue Jays vs Astros Same-Game Parlay: April 1

The Game: Blue Jays vs Astros at 8:10 p.m. ET

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Francis UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (-155)

The Astros have started the season 0-4, but it's not a pure doomsday scenario for their offense. While Houston hasn't hit for much power (.345 SLG), the club has maintained the fourth-best strikeout rate (17.6%) in baseball.

Francis can whiff hitters. He averaged 8.7 K/9 as a reliever last year and 13.5 K/9 as a starter in Triple-A. Still, it's safer to bet on him either getting a short leash in his first start of the year or the Astros crushing him early. Both avenues lead to an UNDER on total strikeouts.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Kirk OVER 0.5 Hits (-220)

Toronto needs Kirk's bat this year, and so far he has delivered. The stout catcher hit the ball hard in spring, then carried that momentum through his first three contests adding four RBIs on two clutch hits.

Kirk's .413 OPS is weak, but his at-bats have been quite good. He looks calm and ready to do damage. 

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Altuve OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+115)

The Astros are winless, but Altuve has done his part. The future Hall-of-Famer is 6-for-18 with two doubles and a homer atop Houston's order. 

Again, Altuve should piece up Francis and whoever else rolls out of the Blue Jays bullpen. Beyond that, the Venezuelan owns a .323/.366/.465 career slash vs Toronto in 48 games.
