Opening Day is here, which makes Thursday the perfect day for a lucrative MLB same-same parlay.
There's no shortage of excellent matchups, but let's zoom into the Blue Jays vs Rays contest scheduled for a 4:10 p.m. ET first pitch.
Here's my MLB same-game parlay for the contest, where I break down the three parlay legs I need to hit:
Blue Jays vs Rays Same-Game Parlay: March 28th
The Game: Blue Jays vs Rays at 4:10 p.m. ET
Bet | Odds |
---|---|
Jose Berrios UNDER 5.5 Strikeouts | -150 |
Brandon Lowe UNDER 0.5 Total Bases | +140 |
Bo Bichette To Record 1+ Hits | -270 |
Overall | +500 |
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Berrios UNDER 5.5 Strikeouts (-150)
Multiple factors are working toward this UNDER, beginning with Berrios' sketchy Opening Day track record. In 2022, the righty got the Game 1 nod for Toronto and recorded just one out while allowing four earned runs. In that outing, he didn't rack up a single K either.
Now I doubt Berrios falls on his face like that in the '24 opener, but it didn't exactly inspire buckets of confidence. We've also got an innings cap helping our bet. Berrios isn't a crazy whiff guy, and he's likely not going further than five innings.
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Brandon Lowe UNDER 0.5 Total Bases (+140)
Why am I dunking on poor Mr. Lowe? For starters, he's recovering from back and knee injuries suffered in 2023. On top of that, he batted 5-for-37 in spring training, though three of those hits were homers.
Here's the kicker: he's 1-for-7 with four strikeouts in his career vs Blue Jays starter Berrios. The Puerto Rican may not whiff many Rays hitters Thursday, but he has Lowe's number.
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Bo Bichette To Record 1+ Hit (-270)
I added some chalk as a nice soft landing spot for the final leg of our parlay. And who else but Bichette will get it done?
The Blue Jays shortstop had another contact-heavy spring, racking up 20 hits in 19 games, good for a .345 BA. Beyond that, Bichette has recorded at least one hit in two straight Opening Days, with last year's effort vs St. Louis culminating in a four-hit performance.
