Dodgers Padres MLB Same Game Parlay March 20th

MLB Same-Game Parlay March 20th: Dodgers vs Padres In Korea

Baseball season has come a little early this year, so it's time for our first MLB same-game parlay for the Dodgers and Padres game in Korea.

Tyler Glasnow and the Dodgers will take on Yu Darvish at the Padres in the early morning hours of March 20th at Gocheok Sky Dome in South Korea. Here's my MLB same-game parlay for the contest, where I break down the three parlay legs I need to hit:

Padres vs Dodgers Same-Game Parlay: March 20th

The Game: San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers, 6:05 a.m. ET

BetOdds
Los Angeles Dodgers Runline (-1.5)-120
Total Runs Over 8.5-125
Yu Darvish Under 5.5 Total Strikeouts-165
Overall+283

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Dodgers -1.5

Much of the reason I'm on the Dodgers' runline is tied to why I think this over will hit and why Darvish will go under on his strikeouts. So read the details of why I think LA's lefty bats will have a big day below.

But, here's just one more nugget that backs up the runline. Manager Dave Roberts' Dodgers were the fourth-best runline team in baseball last year, hitting the mark in 92 games (55.8% of contests).

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Over 8.5 Runs

Let's start with the fact that the Dodgers were the second-best overs team in baseball last year, hitting the wager at a 57.3% clip. Oh, they also added the best hitter in baseball in Shohei Ohtani this offseason to bolster an already potent lineup.

As well, I think tonight's (tomorrow morning?) matchup is built for the runs. The Padres have the offense to tack a few runs on Tyler Glasnow, but I expect much of the run production to come from the Dodgers. Darvish allowed a .800 OPS to left-handed hitters last year (and LA's lineup has some of the best LHB) and in two Darvish starts against LA last year, the Padres allowed five runs in each game — getting us more than halfway to this over.

I also have questions about the bullpen coming in after Darvish. With Josh Hader out of the picture, San Diego's bullpen looks pretty average. So, I expect runs early and often to kick off this season.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Darvish Under 5.5 Ks

Last season, the Dodgers had the seventh-fewest strikeouts against right-handed pitchers like Darvish. After adding righty-masher Shohei Ohtani this offseason, I expect LA to be even more brilliant against right-handed pitchers.

Mookie Betts, Will Smith, and Teoscar Hernandez are expected to be the only three RH hitters who will see regular playing time against righties this season for the Dodgers. As I laid out above, facing a lefty-heavy lineup will be a tough task for Darvish, as he allowed a .800 OPS against LHB last season. Add in the fact that Darvish hasn't pitched over five innings yet this spring, and I doubt he makes it deep enough in this game to get to six strikeouts.

I chose the minus-money under 5.5 Ks here, but if you want to up the risk a little bit I'd also back under 4.5 Darvish strikeouts at around -125.
