    Robbie Ray was rock-solid in his Mariners debut against the Minnesota Twins last Friday, allowing only three hits and one earned run across seven innings in a 2-1 Seattle win. Ray earned himself a five-year, $115-million deal this offseason after posting a tidy 2.84 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP with 248 strikeouts in 193.1 innings with the Toronto Blue Jays last season.

    Dallas Keuchel is set to make his 2022 debut on Wednesday night. Keuchel was outstanding in 11 starts for the White Sox in 2020 with a 1.99 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP, but those numbers ballooned up to a 5.28 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP across 162 innings last season.

    Seattle’s Struggling Offense Has Led To A Rough Start

    Seattle won a pair of one-run games against the Minnesota Twins to kick off its season with a 2-0 record. The Mariners have been outscored 17-6 in three games since, with two blowout losses against the Twins and a 3-2 loss to the White Sox on Tuesday.

    The front office in Seattle made some significant moves to improve the team this offseason with the signing of Robbie Ray and trades to bring in Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez to bolster the offense. Those offensive acquisitions haven’t helped yet – the Mariners are averaging a paltry 2.4 runs per game through their first five games.

    Chicago Has Won Three Straight Since Losing Its Season Opener
