Sportsbooks opened the M’s as +142 road underdogs with a total of 11.5.

Leake attempting to avoid third straight loss

Mike Leake and Tyler Anderson are slated to get the ball for the Mariners and Rockies, respectively. Leake (8-6, 4.36 ERA) dropped his second consecutive start last Tuesday when he allowed seven runs on 11 hits and two walks while fanning one over four innings against the Los Angeles Angels. Leake is 2-2 with a 5.60 ERA in five career starts vs the Rockies.

The 28-year-old has worked 47 1/3 frames over his past seven turns, going 3-2 with a 2.09 ERA in that span. Anderson is making his second career start vs the Rockies, as the hurler gave up six runs and 11 hits over five frames in a 10-4 setback at Coors Field on May 30, 2017.

OVER trending when Leake gets the ball

When the Mariners turn to Leake, high-scoring affairs tend to follow. In Leake’s past seven trips to the mound, the OVER is 5-2. The OVER is also 6-1-2 in the past nine meetings between the Rockies and Mariners in Colorado. The total is relatively high at 11.5, but that’s par for the course at the hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Rockies doing a great job of stringing together wins

Betting on Colorado to win two straight games has been a profitable endeavor of late. In the Rockies’ last eight games following a win, they’re 7-1 SU. The Rox look primed to keep that trend going against the struggling Mariners in light of Saturday’s 4-1 win.
