Starting Pitchers

Alek Manoah will make his season debut for Toronto. He had a great rookie campaign last year, going 9-2, including a 1-0 record in two starts vs New York. Manoah should feel comfortable pitching in the Bronx as that was the site of his first career win in his major-league debut last May. He tossed six scoreless innings, giving up just two hits.

His counterpart will be 30-year-old Jameson Taillon, who went 8-6 last year, his first with the Yankees. Taillon, who has had Tommy John surgery twice now, was 0-2 in three starts against Toronto last season, giving up nine earned runs over 13 innings.

Up-And-Down Start To The Season For The Jays

You can bet the Toronto Blue Jays are going to be entertaining this season. They came back from seven runs down to win their season opener and blew a five-run lead in their only loss. The Jays have allowed 23 runs, more than any other team in baseball. But on the flip side, they have also scored 20, tied for second most.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who finished second in AL MVP voting to Shohei Ohtani last year, has picked up where he left off. He’s 5-for-11 with a monster home run and four RBIs. But the Jays’ starting pitching has been suspect so far. Toronto has used at least five pitchers in each game, and 19 in total, due to two very short outings by their starters.

The Blue Jays have the second-best odds to win the World Series at +800, behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bronx Bombers Living Up To Their Name

Yankee fans are digging the long ball after their team took two of three games from the Red Sox to begin the season. New York has hit five home runs in its three games, including two from Anthony Rizzo, who also has six RBIs. Giancarlo Stanton has gone deep twice as well.

Like the Blue Jays, the Yankees’ starters have struggled, with no pitcher having gone more than four innings. But their bullpen has been lights-out to this point, giving up just two earned runs in 18.2 innings pitched.

The Yankees are +1000 to win the World Series, tied with the Mets for the fourth-best odds in the major leagues.

Blue Jays vs Yankees Pick & Insights

Blue Jays: Keys To Victory

Alek Manoah. We know the Jays are going to put up runs, but the big question is whether they can prevent them. Manoah has had success at Yankee Stadium in the past and if he can repeat that, then taking the road team when making your Blue Jays vs Yankees pick could produce a winning bet.

Yankees: Keys To Victory

Contain the Blue Jays’ big bats. Taillon will have a tough task as Toronto has an OPS of just under .900 after its season-Sportsbook series with the Rangers. If he can avoid the big inning and give the Yankees a solid start, their bullpen should be able to get them to the finish line and earn the team its third victory of the season.
