White Sox vs Blue Jays Preview & Expert Picks Tonight: Check The UNDER

You'd think MLB expert picks would be nice and easy when the White Sox are in town, but nothing is simple with the Blue Jays this season.

The Jays are last in the AL East this year, fighting to climb back into postseason contention. Meanwhile, the White Sox are trying to stave off history as the worst-ever club in franchise history.

Check out my White Sox vs Blue Jays preview and MLB expert picks for May 21 below:

White Sox vs Blue Jays Computer Pick: Jays moneyline, Over 7.5 runs

I'm going against the computer on one of these picks. Read my analysis below to find out why.

White Sox vs Blue Jays Notable Players To Watch

SP Garrett Crochet (CHW): The left-handed reliever turned starter has been one of the lone bright spots on the South Side this season. Crochet owns an MLB-leading 12.2 K/9, lifting him to strikeout OVERs in eight of 10 starts this year. I like a prop bet on him (OVER 5.5 Ks) vs Toronto Tuesday.

2B Davis Schneider (TOR): The Jays utility man has been on a roll lately, posting an .897 OPS with two homers and five RBIs over his last 13 games. The 25-year-old owns a .546 SLG vs LHPs this year, positioning him for a big day vs Crochet.

white Sox vs Blue Jays Preview & Expert Pick — UNDER 7.5 Runs (+100)

While it seems like Toronto's offense has awoken from a slumber, the numbers don't suggest a wave of OVERs is en route. The UNDER 7.5 runs is 5-2 in the Jays' last seven games, during which the Jays have faltered against far worse pitchers than Crochet.

Crochet, the wild strikeout lefty, has seen the UNDER hit in eight of his 10 starts this year. He's still 6-2 UNDER when the total is 7.5 or lower.

Meanwhile, the Jays send Yusei Kikuchi to the mound. He's been their best arm lately, and, with the way he's cooking, I don't expect the Sox to do much damage.

White Sox vs Blue Jays Preview & Expert Pick No. 2 — Blue Jays ML

Only three active Jays hitters have seen Crochet before, yet this club has a strong chance to snag a bit of offense, even if there is a strikeout carnival in the process.

While Justin Turner's been awful for Toronto lately, he owns a 1.027 OPS vs LHPs this season. On top of that, Turner has ripped on sliders this year (.545 SLG). Conveniently, Crochet's slider is his most vulnerable pitch, with opposing hitters slugging a wild .722 against it this year.

The Blue Jays have the benefit of being very right-handed. They can play matchups all night long to beat a very good pitcher in Crochet, while Kikuchi does his damn thing on the other end.

The value isn't super pretty, so shop around for the Jays ML. But yes, I like Toronto, and our computer does, too.
