Aaron's 499 NASCAR Betting Preview

Matt Kenseth paid off for his supporters on the NASCAR betting lines last October at Talladega Superspeedway, and he'll try to do it again on May 5 as the Sprint Cup Series hits the track in the Aaron's 499.

Kenseth took the checkered flag in the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500 at Talladega Superspeedway last October, and he's the +1000 co-favorite along with Kyle Busch to visit Victory Lane at this week's NASCAR stop on the odds at Sportsbook.

A group of drivers is then bunched up in a tie for third place on those NASCAR odds at Sportsbook, with each of Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne, and Brad Keselowski pegged at +1200.

Keselowski is the defending Aaron's 499 champion, beating Busch and Kenseth across the finish line in this race last spring. Kahne and Greg Biffle made up the rest of the Top 5 at that event; Biffle is tied with Carl Edwards at +1500 for this week.

Jamie McMurray and Martin Truex Jr. are both listed at +2500 on the odds to win the Aaron's 499 at Sportsbook for this weekend, with Joey Logano, Jeff Burton, and Kurt Busch at +3000, and each of Ryan Newman, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Juan Montoya, and Danica Patrick set at +3500.

Johnson heads into this week's race with a 43-point lead on Edwards in the Sprint Cup Series driver standings, with Earnhardt Jr., Kahne, Bowyer, Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Biffle, Paul Menard, and Harvick rounding out the current Top 10.

Johnson, Kyle Busch, and Kenseth have each visited Victory Lane twice so far this season, with Edwards, Kahne, and Harvick all winning one race apiece through the first nine events.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a two-time Sportsbook of the Aaron's 499 at Talladega and has seven Top-10 finishes in only nine races this season. Earnhardt Jr. and 2010 Talladega Sportsbook Kevin Harvick are co-favorites at 8/1 odds at Sportsbook for when the drivers of NASCAR hit the track this Sunday.

Jeff Gordon might be one of the older drivers this weekend but his track record at Talladega is pretty impressive with six NASCAR victories, more than any other driver competing here this year. Gordon and last year's Aaron's 499 Sportsbook Jimmie Johnson are at 12/1 odds along with a cluster of other drivers.

Sportsbook also has Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, and last year’s Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart at 12/1 odds on the NASCAR betting lines. Brad Keselowski then leads a group of drivers at 15/1 odds at Sportsbook; Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, Kasey Kahne, and Denny Hamlin are the other drivers at 15/1 odds.

Jamie McMurray and Jeff Burton are sitting at 25/1 on the Aaron's 499 betting lines and round out the top tier of contenders for the race on Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr. is having a breakthrough season, having finished inside the Top 10 in six of the nine races this season. He's a longshot at 30/1 odds at Sportsbook, but a solid payout on the NASCAR betting lines would be in order if he could convert some of that consistency into a victory.

Joey Logano is also on the betting lines at 30/1 odds for the Sprint Cup Series race at the Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.
