The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Great Lakes State for the FireKeepers Casino 400 on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway and Kevin Harvick is the odds-on favorite to win his sixth race of the season.
Harvick is listed at +350 at online sportsbook Sportsbook followed by Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. at +500, Kyle Larson at +650, Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski at +1350, Joey Logano at +1650, Denny Hamlin at +1750, and Chase Elliott and Erik Jones at +2200 to round out the top 10 on the oddsboard.
Harvick and Busch Neck and Neck in Cup Standings
Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick are the top two on the oddsboard for the FireKeepers Casino 400 and one or the other has been listed as the favorite in 13 of 14 races this season. Harvick has now been listed as the favorite in eight of the 14 races and has taken the checkered flag in four of them.
However, his odds at +350 are not very appealing and bettors should know that Harvick’s history at the Michigan International Speedway track has not been great as he has only topped the podium once in 34 races. Busch is in the same situation as his odds are at +500 but historically his record in Michigan is awful as he has only won once in 26 races. Another driver’s odds may be more attractive such as the fourth name on the list.
Kyle Larson just wins at Michigan International Speedway
I get it – odds of +650 for a driver are not sexy when you consider the inflated odds up and down the board but Kyle Larson has a knack for coming out big at Michigan International Speedway. No. 42 has taken three of the past four checkered flags in Michigan races, including a victory at last year’s FireKeepers Casino 400.
Larson has yet to win on the circuit this season and a win on Sunday could go a long way in his chances of winning his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup. Last week’s Sportsbook at the Pocono 400 was Martin Truex Jr. and while he has picked up the pace (top-five finishes in the last four races), he has yet to win at Michigan International Speedway in 24 attempts.
