Mitchell Scores 32 As Cavs Top Pistons

After having their four-game win streak snapped Friday by the Milwaukee Bucks, the Cavs got back into the win column with a 102-94 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. Donovan Mitchell was dominant again with a game-high 32 points while Evan Mobley (20 points, 13 rebounds) and Darius Garland (19 points, 10 assists) each had double-doubles for Cleveland.

Mitchell continues to impress for the Cavs, averaging exactly 30 points per game – the sixth-best mark in the NBA alongside perennial leading scorers like Luka Doncic, Steph Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Mitchell, who’s playing in his first year with Cleveland, is scoring about four points more per game than he averaged in 2021-22 with the Utah Jazz.

Undermanned Raptors Take Down Mavericks

The Raptors snapped a two-game skid on Saturday with a hard-fought 105-100 win over the Dallas Mavericks at home. OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet scored 26 apiece to lead Toronto while Chris Boucher had 22 points and 13 boards for a double-double. Luka Doncic (24 points) was the only Mavericks player to score 20-plus in the loss.

Toronto is a depleted squad right now with injuries to both Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes. Siakam, who leads the team with 24.8 points per game, has not played since November 4 due to an adductor injury but is listed as questionable for Monday’s matchup. Meanwhile, Barnes has missed two consecutive contests with a knee injury and is also a question mark against Cleveland.

Cavaliers: Keys To Win

The Cavaliers on paper should have the upper hand, especially if both Siakam and Barnes are out. Regardless of who’s in for Toronto, Cleveland will have the best player on either team in Mitchell. The shooting guard has scored 29 or more in four straight games while getting plenty of support from Garland and others. If that continues, Cleveland should win.

Raptors: Keys To Win

With both clubs ranking as top-10 defensive teams this season, the Raptors might want to turn this game into a defensive slugfest, especially if they’re missing Siakam. It’ll obviously be easier said than done but Toronto will need to find a way to key in on Mitchell and make sure he can’t win the game single-handedly. If they can hold Mitchell to under 25 points, they’ll certainly have a good chance.
