Clippers Coming Off Strong Offensive Performance

Los Angeles topped the Indiana Pacers 139-133 in a high-scoring battle Monday in Hollywood. Nicolas Batum led all scorers with 32 points while Reggie Jackson added 26 in the win.

The Clippers, who have been without Paul George since December 22, have struggled to get the offense going in the absence of their leading scorer. Monday’s win was a step in the right direction, though, as Los Angeles scored over 100 points for the first time in four outings thanks to big contributions from Batum, Jackson, Marcus Morris Sr. and Amir Coffey.

George (elbow) is expected to miss a few more weeks while Luke Kennard (conditioning) is questionable for Wednesday.

Jokic Stays Hot Despite Denver’s Loss

The Nuggets fell 125-102 to the Utah Jazz in their last outing on Sunday as Donovan Mitchell led all scorers with 31 points in the victory. Denver’s Nikola Jokic had a triple-double with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists while Aaron Gordon added 20 points in the loss.

The Nuggets had averaged 136.5 points over their previous two games but ran out of gas on Sunday in their third game in four nights, scoring just 14 points in the fourth quarter. The bench also had a rough night, going minus-119 collectively when they were on the court. Jokic was great as usual, with his second straight triple-double and ninth on the season, but Denver fell apart without him on the floor.

Austin Rivers (illness) is probable for Wednesday’s matchup.

Clippers vs Nuggets Pick & Insights

Clippers: Keys To Cover

If the Clippers are going to cover the spread and turn the tables on our Clippers vs Nuggets prediction, they’ll need another strong team performance from top to bottom as we saw on Monday. The teams are almost identical in terms of points for and against per game, so the Clippers’ fate in this matchup will likely rest on their ability to execute as a group.

Nuggets: Keys To Cover

The Nuggets are the clear favorites in our Clippers vs Nuggets prediction and a big part of that is due to Jokic, as the Clips don’t really have anyone who can go shot for shot with the reigning MVP. Denver’s bench cost them the game last time out, but if they can get close to break even, the Nuggets should win handily.
