Timberwolves Favored To Grab Victory Over Knicks At MSG On Tuesday Night

The Minnesota Timberwolves (21-22 SU, 23-20 ATS) visit the New York Knicks (22-22, 21-23) at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday in their second meeting of the season. Minnesota has won five of its last seven outings while New York is also 5-2 in its last seven games. It’ll be tough to make a Timberwolves vs Knicks prediction with both teams so evenly matched going into Tuesday’s affair.

Timberwolves Fresh Off Big Win Over Warriors

The Timberwolves picked up an impressive 119-99 win over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, though the Warriors were without Steph Curry. Karl-Anthony Towns was dominant, dropping 26 points and grabbing 11 boards for a double-double as he led all players in scoring. It was a strong top-to-bottom performance from the Timberwolves, who had five players finish in double digits.

Minnesota’s offense has been hot over the past week or so, averaging 125.6 points per game over its last five contests. A lot of that success has been powered by Towns, who’s scored at least 25 points in four straight games, including a season-high 40-point performance on January 9 against the Houston Rockets.

Jordan McLaughlin (health and safety protocols) is questionable for Tuesday.

Knicks Hope To Turn Things Around In Second Half Of Season

The Knicks had their three-game win streak snapped on Monday as they fell 97-87 to the Charlotte Hornets. Miles Bridges popped off for Charlotte with 38 points and 12 rebounds while RJ Barrett (18 points, 12 rebounds) and Julius Randle (18 points, 10 rebounds) had double-doubles in a losing effort for New York.

It’s been a disappointing first half of the season for New York, though the club has shown signs of life over the last few weeks, going 5-2 over its past seven games. The Knicks sit 11th in the Eastern Conference but are well within striking distance of a playoff spot. They also acquired Cam Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks last week, a sign that management is serious about turning things around this season.

Kemba Walker (knee) and Nerlens Noel (knee) are questionable for Tuesday’s game while Reddish (ankle) is out.

Timberwolves vs Knicks Pick & Insights

Timberwolves: Keys To Cover

Minnesota’s offense has been electric lately thanks to the big three of Towns, Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell, but they’ve also seen some production from Malik Beasley and Jaylen Nowell off the bench. If the team’s top trio stays hot and gets some help off the bench, the Timberwolves will be in good shape to take this one.

Knicks: Keys To Cover

While the Timberwolves have been hot offensively, the Knicks boast the NBA’s sixth-best defense, allowing just 104.6 points per contest. On the other end of the court, New York’s 26th-ranked offense (104.6 points per game) has struggled to score baskets of their own. That said, the Knicks’ best bet will be to limit their opposition’s chances and keep it a tight, low-scoring game.
