Morning Dunk: Harden Looks Sharp In Clippers Debut

It’s time to dribble through another edition of The Morning Dunk!

Spectacular Stephen Curry

Even at 35-years-old Steph Curry remains one of the NBA’s pre-eminent scoring threats.

The shooting god went off against the Detroit Pistons on Monday night, dropping 20 points in the first half alone.

Is there anything Steph can’t do on the basketball court? Chef Curry dropped 34 points on the night and is averaging 30-5-4 in his 14th season. You can still find Curry at +1000 to win NBA MVP at age 35!

Steph’s strong play, with a little help from Klay Thompson and the ageless wonder that is Chris Paul, has the 6-2 Warriors right in the thick of the Western Conference race.

Lakers vs Heat: Bubble Finals Rematch

Down in Miami, Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat gave the Lakers all they could handle in a rematch of the 2020 NBA Finals.

Butler looks like he desperately misses his boy Dame Lillard. The Heat’s failure to land Lillard in Miami seems to have a disheartening effect on Miami’s start to the season.

But that didn't matter Sunday when the Anthony Davis-LeBron James duo couldn't do enough to squeak past the Heat, who defeated the Lakers 108-107.

The Heat moved to 3-4 with the win as they look to reverse their slow start. Keep in mind, this same team was 9-11 in their first 20 games of last season. Despite these turbulent close games, Erik Spoelstra’s squad is -290 to make the playoffs. Remember, even when you think they’re down, the zombie Heat are as dangerous as ever.

Harden’s Opening Night

Over in the Big Apple, James Harden made his grand entrance as a Los Angeles Clipper. The Beard brought his bag of tricks to Madison Square Garden and left the Knicks reeling in his wake.

Harden dropped 17 points and six assists with two three-pointers in a certain sign of things to come for the star-studded Clippers.

Even on the minutes limit, Harden made his mark on Broadway, and the Clippers sailed off with the W. If you believe in the Klaw, PG13, the Brodie, and the Beard, you can bet on the Clippers to lift the Larry OB at +1300 in the NBA Championship odds.
