The 2015 NBA playoffs get underway on Saturday and Sunday this weekend, with the co-favorites on the updated odds to win the NBA championship at the online sportsbooks expected to tip off as double-digit chalk for their Game 1 matchups.
On Saturday the Golden State Warriors, at 11/5 on the odds to win the NBA championship at Sportsbook, will face the New Orleans Pelicans at Oracle Arena in a game in which they opened as 11.5-point home favorites at the sportsbooks. The Warriors are also the 11/10 favorites to win the Western Conference.
The other three Game 1 matchups on tap for Saturday are Washington at Toronto, Milwaukee at Chicago, and Dallas at Houston. The Raptors opened as 4.5-point favorites, while the Bulls opened as 7-point favorites, and the Rockets opened as 6-point favorites.
On Sunday the other four first-round series will get underway, including LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers playing host to the Boston Celtics at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavaliers are tied with the Warriors at 11/5 on the odds to win the NBA championship at Sportsbook, and they opened as 10.5-point home favorites for Game 1.
The other three Game 1 matchups on Sunday are then Brooklyn at Atlanta, Portland at Memphis, and San Antonio at the Clippers. The Hawks, the top seed in the Eastern Conference, opened as 8.5-point favorites against the Nets for their Game 1, while the Grizzlies opened as 4-point favorites, and the Clippers opened as slight 1.5-point favorites.
