76ers Rout Hornets In Strong Team Effort

The 76ers routed the Charlotte Hornets 144-114 in their last outing on Saturday. Embiid scored a modest 29 points and added 14 rebounds as the Sixers spread the ball around, with seven players finishing in double digits. Miles Bridges led Charlotte with 20 points in a losing effort.

After looking almost unbeatable for a couple months after Christmas, the 76ers have fallen back down to earth, going 8-7 since March 5. They should still be able to lock up home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs as they sit fourth in the east and two games ahead of the Chicago Bulls, but the Sixers will want to get their game back on track through the final week of their regular season.

Cavaliers Destined For Play-In Tournament

The Cavaliers cruised to a win of their own on Sunday as they defeated the New York Knicks 119-101. Darius Garland led the way with a double-double, scoring 24 points and adding 13 assists, while six others finished in double digits for Cleveland. Meanwhile Opi Toppin had 20 points to top the Knicks.

Like the 76ers, the Cavs have slipped down the stretch, going 5-2 over their last seven games and 8-14 over their last 22 outings dating to February 12. Cleveland has fallen to seventh place in the Eastern Conference, 2.5 games behind the surging Toronto Raptors, and will almost assuredly have to get through the Play-In Tournament to earn a spot in this year’s playoffs.

Rajon Rondo (ankle) is questionable while Evan Mobley (ankle) and Jarrett Allen (finger) are out.

76ers vs Cavaliers Pick & Insights

76ers: Keys to Cover

It’s been business as usual for Embiid, who is averaging 31.3 points and 12.3 boards over his last 10 outings, though the Sixers will want more out of James Harden. The trade deadline acquisition has been hot and cold, scoring fewer than 20 points in three of his last four contests. If Harden has a good game, you can book an easy win for Philadelphia.

Cavaliers: Keys to Cover

The Cavaliers have been somewhat offensively challenged over their last six games, averaging just 107.2 points per game during that span. Their 119-point performance on Saturday was a good change of pace as every starter scored at least 10 while they also got 34 points off the bench. Cleveland will need another excellent team effort to keep up with a more talented Philadelphia squad.
