Georgia vs Kentucky Betting Preview

The Kentucky Wildcats (11-6 SU, 5-12 ATS) are 15-1 SU in their last 16 games against the Georgia Bulldogs (13-4, 10-7). The Wildcats will look to keep things rolling with another win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday night in Lexington.

While the Wildcats have enjoyed plenty of straight-up success against the Bulldogs, Georgia has had the ATS edge in recent years at 6-3-1 in the last 10 games between these two SEC rivals. Georgia enters this game with a 3-0 ATS record in its last three games against Kentucky. The total has gone OVER in three of the last four games in this head-to-head series.

Latest Betting Notes: Georgia

The Bulldogs grinded out a 62-58 upset win on the road over the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday as 5.5-point underdogs. Kario Oquendo scored 15 points in the win and Terry Roberts added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Roberts has been Georgia’s leading scorer this season, averaging 15.6 points per game.

Georgia has been red-hot since late November with a 9-2 SU and ATS record over its last 11 games. That run includes a perfect 6-0 ATS record as an underdog with four outright upsets. The Bulldogs defense ranks 49th in the nation, allowing only 63.9 points per game.

Latest Betting Notes: Kentucky

The Wildcats snapped a two-game losing streak in impressive fashion on Saturday with a 63-56 upset win on the road over the Tennessee Volunteers. Oscar Tshiebwe led the way with 15 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Tshiebwe is averaging 15.9 points per game and his 13.1 rebounds rank second best in the nation.

Prior to this outright win as an 11-point underdog against the Volunteers, the Wildcats were just 6-4 SU and 0-10 ATS over their previous 10 games. Kentucky entered the 2022-23 season ranked No. 4 in the AP Top 25 Poll, but through the first 17 games of the campaign the team has failed to live up to expectations.

The Keys to Victory: Georgia

Georgia is at its best when its defense is playing well. The Bulldogs are 0-4 SU and 2-2 ATS in four games when they’ve allowed over 75 points compared to 13-0 SU and 8-5 ATS when holding opponents to 75 points or less.

Keeping this game close with a strong effort on defense will give Georgia the chance to cover the spread and maybe even win the game outright. The Bulldogs grinded out a 63-62 win at home over the Wildcats in 2021 and will likely be looking for a similar final score to pull off another upset on Tuesday night.

The Keys to Victory: Kentucky

The Wildcats have been plagued by slow starts this season, trailing by eight points or more at the half in each of their last five losses. Kentucky must avoid falling into an early hole against Georgia as the Bulldogs have a defense strong enough to protect a big lead.

Another great defensive effort like the one they had against Tennessee should be enough for an outright win over Georgia. But to cover this large spread, the Wildcats will need to get things going on offense. Kentucky is scoring 75.5 points per game this season but has averaged only 61 points over its last three games.
