College Football Betting Picks - Week 7

The college football season has reached the midway point with a number of great conference matchups on Week 7’s schedule. Digging deep into the numbers, we have uncovered a couple of golden opportunities to line your pockets with a timely wager or two.

The following are this week’s top two plays as well as a quick look at which teams the OddsShark Consensus is high on this week. All lines quoted have been provided by Sportsbook.

Pick of the Week

The Big East actually has three teams ranked in the AP’s top 25 including Rutgers at No. 20. The Scarlet Knights host Syracuse this Saturday at 12 p.m. as 7.5-point favorites. They have sprinted to a 5-0 straight-up start and are 3-2 against the spread. While Rutgers has been fairly productive on offense behind a balanced attack of passing and running the ball, its success this season revolves around a shutdown defense that is giving up an average of just 10.8 points a game. It will now face a Syracuse offense that has really struggled to put points on the board. The Orange are ranked 87th in the nation in scoring with 24.4 points a game. Rutgers 23, Syracuse 13

Another high-noon showdown takes us to the Big Ten for a huge Leaders Division matchup between Wisconsin and Purdue with the Boilermakers favored by 2 points at home. The Sportsbook of this game is almost a lock to make it into the conference title game given that both Ohio State and Penn State are ineligible for the postseason. The Badgers are 4-2 SU (2-4 ATS) but just a mere shell of last season’s championship squad, while Purdue at 3-2 both SU and ATS has one of its strongest teams in recent memory. The Boilermakers dropped the ball last week at home as 3.5-point underdogs in a 44-13 loss to Michigan, but will be bringing their A-game this Saturday to finally snap a six-game losing streak to Wisconsin. Purdue 26, Wisconsin 23

The OddsShark Consensus

West Virginia’s impressive run to No. 5 in the country has caught the eye of the OddsShark Consensus this week as a 4-point road favorite against Texas Tech. Right now, 71.7 percent believe the Mountaineers will win and cover the spread. SMU is a 17.5-point road favorite against Tulane and the consensus has hit 70.5 percent that the Mustangs will have no problem covering this many points against the Green Wave.

A few other games that the consensus is all over this weekend has No. 1 Alabama covering a 21-point spread on the road against Missouri at 70.3 percent. The exact same percentage has No. 4 Florida as an 8.5-point road favorite covering against Vanderbilt. The top play on the total line at 74.1 percent has the Illinois vs. Michigan game going OVER 48.5 points.

The Best of the Rest

The top two matchups on Week 7’s schedule starts with a classic college football rivalry between No. 17 Stanford and No. 7 Notre Dame in South Bend. The Fighting Irish are 7.5-point favorites with the total line set at 44.5. This game is set to get underway at 3:30 p.m.

Saturday night’s featured bout takes us to the SEC for a huge showdown with major BCS implications when No. 3 South Carolina heads to Tiger Stadium to face No. 9 LSU as a 3-point underdog. The total for this game is set at 40.
