Not every sportsbook offers odds on college football games involving Division II schools, but alumni from those schools can get their action down at one shop.
They might not like the odds, but Fordham fans can bet on the Rams when they face UConn on Thursday to kick off the NCAA football betting schedule for 2001. The spread? 40 points at Sportsbook. Can the Rams cover 40 points?
Ditto fans of NC Central, whose season-Sportsbook game is against Rutgers. The field may be soggy after Hurricane Irene’s visit and the pointspread is daunting – 42.5 for the Scarlet Knights. But at least there is a line to bet on.
How about Murray State? They are 30-point underdogs at Louisville. But not all Division II schools are big dogs. In a battle of Philly schools, Division II Villanova is just a 6-point road pup against Temple. New Hampshire gets just 7.5 points at MAC’s Toledo. [ All lines again are courtesy of Sportsbook. ]
And it’s not just Division II schools that are huge Week 1 college football wagering dogs. Memphis is +27.5 at home against Mississippi State and UNLV is a monster +35.5 point road dog at Wisconsin.
Looking ahead to Saturday, Akron is a nearly 5-TD dog against Ohio State, which enters the season with plenty of troubles on the field and with NCAA investigations.
