Lamar Jackson NFL Football Betting Preview Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns

Ravens Heavy Favorites To Get Revenge On Browns, Clinch Home Field

The Ravens are out for revenge after losing big to the Browns in Week 4. Riding a 10-game win streak, they opened as 10-point favorites against a Cleveland team that’s played three straight uninspiring games. With a victory guaranteeing home-field advantage, the Ravens are the play to make on Sunday.

Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Ravens opened as 10-point road favorites, which isn’t surprising considering they are the league’s hottest team, with a lot on the line in this game, while the Browns have looked simply awful the last few weeks and have nothing left to play for. The total opened at 49 points, and given how bad Cleveland’s defense has been — and how good the Baltimore offense has been — the Ravens might top that number on their own.

Baltimore News & Notes

The Ravens went into Week 15 in what was an obvious trap game, hosting the lowly Jets with a divisional game against rival Cleveland up next. If there were any questions about whether they would overlook their opponent … they didn’t.

The Ravens gashed the Jets’ second-ranked run defense for 218 yards and Lamar Jackson logged his third game this season with five passing touchdowns en route to a 42-21 victory.

Jackson also added 86 rushing yards, giving him 1,103 for the season to break Michael Vick’s record for the most rushing yards by a QB in a single season.

Now the Ravens will look to avenge their Week 4 loss to Cleveland, when Jackson had his worst game of the season. Considering the Ravens are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games at Cleveland, and a win means Baltimore gets home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, their chances of exacting revenge are high.

Cleveland News & Notes

The Browns, however unlikely, still had a chance at a playoff berth, so they desperately needed a win in Week 14 against an Arizona team that had just three wins on the season.

Unfortunately, the Browns’ season of disappointment hit another low point as they were wholeheartedly embarrassed in a 38-24 loss.

Cleveland showed a curious lack of urgency, getting outworked and outplayed in every facet of the game. The Browns surrendered 226 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground, while they only generated 130 passing yards against the league’s worst pass defense until padding their stats in garbage time.

With their overall lack of intensity, the Browns seem like they’re waving the white flag on the season, especially as they are now officially eliminated from playoff contention. But they have won four of their last five home games, so even though they’re hosting the NFL’s hottest team in Week 15 and have little to play for, a chance to hurt their rivals in any way should be enough to get the Browns hyped up for the contest.

Betting Pick: OVER 49

The Ravens really want revenge, and they’re not going to let up on their rivals. Baltimore might hit 49 points on its own, but add in the Browns’ offensive contribution and this game definitely goes OVER.
