  • The Baltimore Ravens (8-4 SU, 4-7-1 ATS) are unlikely to have quarterback Lamar Jackson in the lineup Sunday when they visit the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers (5-7, 6-5-1) in NFL Week 14 action.

Jackson is listed as week to week after suffering a knee injury in last weekend’s narrow 10-9 win over Denver. The Steelers return home riding a two-game win streak after topping Atlanta 19-16 last weekend. However, the Steelers have posted just two wins in their past five home games.

    Ravens vs Steelers Sportsbook Odds

With Jackson sidelined, the Ravens have faded to 2.5-point underdogs after Sportsbook as 4.5-point favorites. The total is also on the decline, dipping to 37 after Sportsbook at 40.5.

Sunday’s matchup marks the first of two regular-season meetings between these AFC North rivals. The Steelers enter the weekend riding a four-game straight-up win streak in head-to-head action, capped by a narrow 16-13 win in Baltimore in Week 18 last season.

Low scoring has been commonplace during Pittsburgh’s 4-0 run. The total has topped 40 just once over that stretch, generating a 3-0 run for the UNDER in totals betting. Recent clashes between these teams have been hard-fought, with Pittsburgh claiming victory by a combined margin of just 13 points in their four recent wins.

    History Repeating Itself in Baltimore

With Lamar Jackson on the shelf, Tyler Huntley is poised to make his first start of the season for the Ravens. The third-year pivot turned in mixed results after taking over in relief of Jackson last weekend, connecting on 27 of 32 pass attempts for 187 yards and scoring a touchdown on the ground as part of his 41 rushing yards. However, the 23-year-old has now failed to connect in the end zone in three straight appearances while throwing three picks over that stretch.

Huntley faces a challenge to overcome his TD drought against a Steelers defense that has allowed just two scoring passes over their three most recent wins while compiling six interceptions in their past four contests.

But perhaps the greatest worry facing this team is avoiding a repeat of the late-season slide a year ago that bounced them from the playoff picture after Jackson suffered a season-ending ankle injury. With Jackson hobbled, the Ravens closed out on a six-game losing streak, a run that started with a stunning 20-19 loss in Pittsburgh.

    Steelers Buoyed by Stout Defense

The Steelers established their first two-game win streak of the season with last weekend’s 19-16 win over the Falcons, and now look to win three in a row for the first time since November of last year. Overall, Pittsburgh has limited opponents to fewer than 20 points in five of the team’s past seven outings, and to just 20 points per game during their current 3-1 run.

However, points have come at a premium on home turf, where the Steelers have averaged just 20.8 points per game while going 2-3 this season. And that number is skewed by the squad’s offensive outburst in their most recent home date, a 37-30 loss to Cincinnati in Week 11.

While head coach Mike Tomlin continues to praise Kenny Pickett publicly, the Steelers’ rookie passer has struggled to produce. Pickett has tossed for just two scores over his past five outings while connecting on just 62.7 percent of pass attempts.

The biggest point producer for this team of late has been kicker Matthew Wright, who has accounted for 23 of the team’s 33 points over the past two weeks and is a perfect 10-for-10 on field goals over his past three outings.

    Ravens: Keys to Win

While Huntley was steady in last weekend’s season debut, he must find a way to overcome his current scoring pass drought if he is to remain the Ravens’ best option under center in Lamar Jackson’s absence. The Baltimore ground game must also find a spark without Jackson. With the status of rusher JK Dobbins uncertain, that could mean bigger roles and higher expectations for Gus Edwards and Kenyan Drake, who have combined to generate just 95 rushing yards and one scoring run over the past two weeks.

    Steelers: Keys to Win

The Steelers must focus on maintaining their recent stingy ways, particularly with Lamar Jackson on the shelf. The Pittsburgh rush defense has been stout, allowing just one scoring run over the past four games, while the Steelers secondary has racked up six picks over that stretch. However, this team would get a big lift if Kenny Pickett can finally produce a long-awaited breakthrough performance and show flashes of the prolific form that he displayed in his final season of college ball last season when he threw for 42 touchdowns.
