The New York Giants (3-8 SU, 3-7-1 ATS) look to tally consecutive straight-up wins for the first time in over a year when they host the rapidly fading New England Patriots (2-8, 2-8) on Sunday in a battle of the two lowest scoring teams in the NFL.

The Giants snapped a three-game slide with last weekend’s 31-19 upset win over Washington, but have suffered narrow defeats in each of their past three home dates with New England.

Idle last weekend, the Patriots return to action riding a three-game SU and ATS losing streak, and have also averaged a meager 12.3 points per game while falling to defeat in each of their past three road contests.

For the third time in six outings, the Patriots produced a single-digit point total last time out, falling 10-6 in their Week 10 date with Indianapolis in Frankfurt. Overall, the Pats have failed to score a touchdown in their past six quarters of play, and have scored just one total touchdown after halftime during their 0-3 slide.

After tossing for five scores in his previous three outings, quarterback Mac Jones returned to familiar form versus the Colts, tossing for 170 yards and no scores while getting sacked five times. While their feeble attack has consistently disappointed loyal betting fans, the UNDER has been a reliable bet when the Patriots hit the field, going 7-2 in their past nine outings, with the total reaching 40 just twice in their past eight.

The challenge now facing New York is to maintain that momentum, something they have been unable to do while averaging just 14.8 points in the game immediately following their five most recent wins. Indeed, the Giants attack has consistently sputtered when playing at home this season, losing three of four while averaging just 6.8 points per game.

The Keys to Victory: Patriots

The Patriots are hoping to put yet another woeful performance behind them when they hit the gridiron on Sunday. New England put victory within reach while marching into the end zone on each their first three second-half possessions against Indy, but managed to produce just three points on the drives.

Mac Jones’s failure to seize those opportunities earned him a seat on the bench, but backup Baily Zappe fared no better in relief, and with Jones reportedly nursing an undisclosed injury, it is far from clear who will be under center on Sunday. Whoever is leading the Pats offense could be further hamstrung by some key injuries.

Both leading receiver Devante Parker and top rusher Rhamondre Stevenson entered last week’s bye nursing injuries, and their status for Sunday should be watched carefully.

Is it possible the Giants have found a legitimate candidate to succeed Daniel Jones as the team’s starting quarterback? Tommy DeVito certainly looked like it while tossing for 246 yards, no picks, and three touchdowns in last week’s victory over the Commanders.

The undrafted rookie out of Illinois has quickly developed chemistry with veterans Saquon Barkley and Darius Slayton. Barkley turned in his best performance of the season while piling up 140 total yards and making two scoring catches, while Slayton picked up a season-high 82 receiving yards and made his first TD reception of the season.
