It’s Friday, which means it’s time to put away the books and get ready to enjoy some Ivy League basketball action. Parity is still non-existent in the Ivy League as three teams have a winning percentage of .800 or higher, while the rest of the league sits under .500. Though there may not be value on many teams SU, we look at all the Ivy League action to see where the best betting angles are for you.
Cornell Big Red @ Penn Quakers
Cornell has been one of the worst bets in the nation as they are a pathetic 0-5-1 in their past six outings, all of which were SU losses as well. It has not been one specific aspect for Big Red, as they go from losing shootouts to getting thumped. This inconsistent scoring has also made the team a stay away for totals bettors.
Penn enters the Friday as a steady OVER play with the team topping the closing total in each of their past three games. Those three games have finished with an average combined score of 155.3 points. The Quakers won SU and ATS last time they met Cornell on February 13.
Dartmouth Big Green @ Brown Bears
Dartmouth has been an inconsistent bet this season with the Big Green going 6-9 ATS and 8-8-1 OVER/UNDER. Despite their erratic play, Dartmouth did pick up a 17-point victory over Brown in their past meeting.
Brown sits dead last in the Ivy League, but have proven to be a profitable bet lately with a 6-1 ATS record in their past seven games. The Bears have been underdogs in their past six games, but lost by just single-digits in four of those contests.
Columbia Lions @ Princeton Tigers
Columbia sits near the top of the standings, but the Lions have struggled against the top tier of teams. In their two games against Princeton and Yale this season, Columbia is 0-2 SU and ATS while losing by an average of 9.5-points.
Princeton has been a solid bet with the Tigers going 3-1 ATS in their past four, with the lone ATS loss coming when they failed to cover an 18-point spread against Brown last week. Pete Miller had the game of his career when these teams met earlier this season when he had 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Harvard Crimson @ Yale Bulldogs
Harvard has not covered a game since December 31. That is nearly two months without cashing a ticket. Harvard has been extra awful on the road, with the team going 1-7-1 ATS in nine games away from home this season.
Yale has been the best bet in the Ivy League since mid-January with the Bulldogs going 7-1-1 ATS in their past nine outings. Yale won the last game between the two teams with the Bulldogs winning by 12 points after closing as seven-point dogs.
