Chile Battles Mexico in Copa Quarters

Mexico and Chile will meet for the second time this month as they have drawn a quarterfinal match at the Copa America. Mexico came away with the 1-0 win over Chile on June 1 in a tune-up game for the tournament of the Americas.

SHARK BITES
  • Mexico has 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss against Chile in their last 6 games.
  • With 3 wins and 4 losses, Chile has not drawn a match in 2016.
  • Mexico is unbeaten in 2016 with 7 wins and 1 draw.

Mexico hasn’t moved past the group stage of the Copa America since 2007 when they captured a bronze medal in a win over Uruguay in the third-place game. In their history, Mexico is 4-2 in their six Copa quarterfinals while Chile is 5-3 in their eight quarterfinals.

Chile is looking to defend their lone Copa title and have been slotted by online sportsbook Sportsbook as the slight +170 underdog to move past Mexico in regular time. With Mexico being given a line of +150 to win in regular time, there is value on both sides of this fixture.

The Sportsbook of this match will get either Peru or Colombia in the June 22 semifinal of the Copa America.
