Ibrah Set for International Retirement

Sweden and Belgium will clash Wednesday in a match that will decide the fate of both teams. Belgium currently sits second in their group table with a 3-0 win over Ireland and 2-0 loss to Italy. Sweden has only one point in the tournament and needs a win vs Belgium if they want any chance at moving on.

SHARK BITES
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced he will retire from international football after the Euros.
  • Belgium won the last match between these two teams 2-0 back in 2014.
  • Belgium lost only one match in Euro qualifying.

Sweden currently has the goal differential advantage over Ireland and will qualify for the next round with a win over Belgium and an Ireland loss, draw or less than 4-0 win over Italy. The Swedes only goal so far came from an Irish player putting the ball in his own net after a cross from Ibrahimovic.

A draw would most likely put Belgium through, assuming Italy beats or draws Ireland. The talented Belgians however, will want to win this one to leave no doubt on their odds of advancing to knockout play.

Oddsmakers at online shop Sportsbook have faith in the Belgians and have tagged them with a -120 moneyline and given Sweden +375 odds to win. The draw has been given +240 odds on the moneyline.
