Lazio striving for consistency after topsy-turvy start
The Sportsbook weeks of the campaign have brought a series of emotions for Lazio fans. Following two straight defeats at the start of the season, there followed four wins on the bounce, including a 4-1 mauling of Genoa and an impressive 2-1 win away to Udinese.
However, they were brought crashing down to earth following the Rome derby last weekend as they were brushed aside 3-1 by their greatest rivals. Now, once again, they are trying to get their season back onto some sort of level footing.
Fiorentina, meanwhile, sits just a point above them in the table and this promises to be a mouth-watering clash. The Viola come into the match on the back of two wins in their last three games, but the most important statistic is the fact they have failed to pick up three points on the road to date.
With home advantage, Lazio comes in as the favorite to seal the points. You can back the club from the capital to collect the win at just -134, with Fiorentina out at +333 to pick up its first away win this season. A draw is priced in the middle at +275.
Fiorentina capable of title challenge?
With Napoli tripping up last time out away to Juventus, Fiorentina finds itself just two points off second place. Yet while they boast a 100 per cent record in front of their own fans, their form on the road has been nothing short of woeful, with the side picking up just one point from a possible nine on their travels.
This is precisely why we are expecting Lazio to add to Fiorentina’s away day blues and pick up a fifth win of the season. It can of course be a thankless task trying to predict the exact scoreline of a match, but a 2-1 win for Lazio comes in at +700.
That in turn would also allow you to back OVER 2.5 goals in the game at -138, and both teams to score, which is at -143. Meanwhile, you can opt for a betting combo of a Lazio win and both teams to score which offers the greater payout at +240.
A slow start is likely
As we saw last weekend, both games involving these two teams exploded into life after the interval. In the 2-0 win over Atalanta, Fiorentina bagged both its goals in the second half, while three of the four goals in the Rome derby also came after the break.

Lazio was desperately unlucky to miss out on Champions League qualification last term, and young coach Simone Inzaghi is proving himself one of the more astute up-and-coming managers in Italy. Consistency will be a key foundation to any success, however, and Lazio can start by picking up three points this weekend to climb the table.
