Manchester City Enters Season Atop Premier League Odds

EPL Premier League Odds Manchester City Liverpool

With the start of the 2019-20 Premier League season set for August 9, Manchester City is listed as the strong -185 favorite to claim a third straight league title at Bovada.

Manchester City is coming off yet another outstanding campaign in 2018-19, matching its own English Premier League record with 32 wins to finish atop the table by a narrow one-point margin over Liverpool FC. The Citizens piled up 98 points last season after posting a record 100 points back in the 2017-18 season.

And Manchester City took steps to strengthen its midfield with the offseason acquisition of Rodri, who inked a five-year deal with the club to join the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva after spending last season with Atletico Madrid.

De Bruyne will be looking to rebound following an injury-plagued 2018-19 campaign during which he was limited to just 19 appearances. The 28-year-old Belgian hopes to return to the form he displayed in 2017-18, when he was named Premier League Player of the Year. Sterling potted 17 goals in league play last year, while Silva claimed Manchester City Player of the Season honors after scoring 13 goals across all competitions.

Liverpool Second on EPL Futures Board at +275

Elsewhere on the table, Mohamed Salah is expected to play a key role as Liverpool looks to claim its first league championship since the launch of the Premier League in 1992. Liverpool sits in second spot as a +275 wager on the Premier League championship odds.

The Reds fell a point short of glory last season despite suffering just one loss in league play, setting club records with 30 wins and 97 points. Despite the club’s disappointing finish, though, Salah continued to shine, scoring 22 times in league play, and looks to the new year set to battle Tottenham’s Harry Kane for the title of the Premier League’s leading goalscorer.

Further down the Premier League betting futures for the 2019-20 season, Tottenham Hotspur are listed third on the board at +1800, ahead of Chelsea FC, who join Manchester United at +2500, while Arsenal FC sits a step back of the leaders at odds of +4000 on the futures.

Champions League Finalists a Distant Third in Odds

The Spurs overachieved in Champions League play last season, reaching the final for the first time before falling 2-0 to the high-powered Reds. However, Tottenham endured a roller-coaster campaign in league play last year, posting wins in just three of its final 12 matches.

Chelsea and Manchester United also closed out their respective seasons on a losing note, with the Blues winning just one of their final five matches and the Red Devils going winless through that same stretch.

Arsenal also has a lot to prove after stumbling through the final month of last season. A 14-match unbeaten streak early in the year briefly lifted the Gunners into contention for the top of the table, before they fell back to earth with just two victories in their final seven outings.

Everton, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers all hold down +15000 odds to win the Premier League in the upcoming season, with West Ham at +50000 and the rest of the table at odds of +75000 or greater. That includes Sheffield United, the longest long shot at +250000.
