World Cup Group B

England

Much focus will again be on England as one of the favorites to win the World Cup in 2022 and one of the most soccer-crazy countries on the planet.

However Gareth Southgate decides his side will look in the end, it will be one of the more formidable teams in the tournament led by Golden Boot favorite Harry Kane up front along with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Buyako Saka, Phil Foden, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mason Mount and many others.

There's no doubting the talent available to Southgate and the team is ranked fifth in the FIFA world rankings, the question for England will once again be: Can they perform in the big moment. This team lost a memorable Euro 2020 final to Italy in penalties and lost 2-1 to Croatia in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.

Having not won a World Cup since 1966, there is a black cloud hanging over this program and will not subside until they reach the top again. But whether or not you believe England can win it all, you have to believe they will get out of this group. That said, we don't like them at -240 to win the group outright considering their struggled to score in the group stage of recent tournaments and the quality of their opponents.

USA

Currently ranked No. 14 in the FIFA world rankings, the USA narrowly avoided a more complicated path to the World Cup after finishing third in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying behind Canada and Mexico and tying Costa Rica in points.

The Americans do have some top international talents in Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams and Antonee Robinson and are in much better shape than they were four years ago when they failed to qualify for the World Cup. Scoring could be a bit of a problem for this side and they will lean on Pulisic for much of the offensive fireworks.

We like the USA as a longshot bet to win Group B at +550, though they definitely cannot match the quality of England's roster.

Wales

Despite being one of the last teams to qualify for the World Cup and entering this group later than the other three teams, Wales has a chance to make a little bit of noise as the 19th ranked team in the world.

Wales will once again be led by the ageless Gareth Bale who at 33 years old will be expected to shoulder much of the load for the Welsh offensively. Knowing they will likely struggles to score, Wales will try to keep their opponent scoreless and keep games close.

Wales has not played in a World Cup since 1958, but had an okay showing at the Euro 2020 tournament finishing second in their group before losing in the Round of 16 to Denmark.

We don't think Wales is worth betting on to win the group outright, but they are interesting at +110 to advance.

Iran

Though they are the longshot bet of the four teams, Iran is no pushover having qualified for each of the last two World Cups and even stealing a point off of Portugal in the 2018 group stage. Iran finished third in the group that year behind Portugal and Spain.

Ranked 23rd in the world, Iran finished first in the table of their World Cup qualifier ahead of Korea putting together a solid effort of 15 goals scored and just four allowed.

They don't have near the quality of a roster as England or even USA, but they are an interesting longshot bet to advance at +450. This is not lucky-to-qualify nation that squeaked into the tournament.
