Cubs Enjoying Plenty of Success at Petco Park

After rallying for a 5-4, 10-inning win in the series opener and in light of collecting 13 hits in a 11-6 triumph on Saturday, the Chicago Cubs will look to head into the all-star break with a series sweep of the San Diego Padres on Sunday. The 34-year-old was named to his fifth all-star team but will be unavailable for the game after he starts Sunday’s contest. Lester is 2-1 with a 2.97 ERA in five career starts vs San Diego.

Lauer (5-5, 4.40) recorded the best start of his career last Tuesday when he allowed one run and four hits along with eight strikeouts over 8 2/3 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The rookie entered June with a bloated 7.67 ERA but has posted a 2.17 mark over his past eight starts covering 46 1/3 innings.
