Kluber, Porcello Highlight Star-Studded Pitching Matchup in Indians-Red Sox

Who has the edge: Kluber or Porcello?

Corey Kluber and Rick Porcello are slated to get the nod for the Indians and Red Sox, respectively. Kluber (15-6, 2.68 ERA) is in the process of making another run at the Cy Young Award as he went seven innings against Cincinnati last Tuesday, allowing one run and five hits while fanning seven en route to a win. The hurler has surrendered fewer than two earned runs in three of his last four outings while working at least seven frames in each of them. Kluber struck out 12 in 7.2 innings in a start against Boston last season but took the loss.

Porcello (15-5, 4.04) bounced back from a subpar outing with a victory at Philadelphia last Tuesday, giving up one run and two hits while registering 10 strikeouts in seven innings of work. The New Jersey native was taken for seven runs over four frames against Toronto in his previous turn. Porcello didn’t get a chance to face Cleveland in 2017 and is seeing the Tribe for the first time since suffering a loss in the 2016 ALDS.

Red Sox rarely drop two in a row

Considering they own the best record in baseball at 88-37 SU, it shouldn’t surprise you in the least to learn that the Red Sox are 10-1 SU in their last 11 games following a loss. Boston is in that territory today following a 2-0 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday. The BoSox are also 8-2-1 SU in their last 11 games on the five-inning moneyline behind Porcello.

Is another UNDER in store for Cleveland?

UNDER bettors have been loving the Indians of late, and for good reason. In Cleveland’s past four games, the UNDER is 4-0 with an average combined score of six runs. The Indians blanked the Orioles 8-0 on Sunday but managed to stay under the closing total of 8.5. The Red Sox have also been a reliable UNDER wager in this spot, as 11 of Boston’s past 15 home games have gone UNDER the total.
