Kluber, who’s propelled the Indians to wins in nine of his last 10 starts, has not been as sharp against the Tigers as you’d like if you’re a whale putting a sizable bet on the Tribe. That’s a little worrisome – until you look into Boyd’s numbers. The Tigers are 0-7 straight up in the 26-year-old lefty’s last seven appearances and he owns a 6.17 ERA since the all-star break. He has, however, pitched well against the Indians, limiting them to five runs in 18.2 innings of action.
Cleveland has to lose at some point but given the gravity of the trends and the goals of both the Tigers and Indians, it’s probably not going to happen tonight.
